Mass Occult Invasion of The Church: Satan’s Smart Strategy

[And how Bethel Church drives the push on a worldwide scale]

First things first:

Lord Jesus, I pray that You would protect every person who reads this and watches the videos. Send Your angels to surround them, and the Holy Spirit to illuminate the truth. Amen.

Satan has always attempted to enter God’s church through the occult, but an effective, mass occult invasion of the church began 25 years ago, at what was called, “the Toronto Blessing”, and which was to see the majority of Christians duped into a false Christian belief.

The strategy was so slick, that most Christians never even picked up on it.

But the event set a destructive force of evil in motion that is now unstoppable, and the occult has been unleashed into the body of Jesus Christ, polluting thousands of churches, Christian leaders, and many, many people.

Satan’s purpose? Mind control for the preparation of the One World Religion as revealed by scripture in Revelation 13.

The so-called Toronto “Blessing” produced a counterfeit Christianity that is so close to the real thing, that it’s fooling even the very elect, fulfilling Matthew 24:24: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Our brother John also warned us:

“Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.” 1 John 2:18-19

Christianity today

There is great dissension amongst Christians at the moment, and this is due to a sifting, which the Bible speaks of in 1 Peter 4:17:

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God…”

We are now in the time of judgement in the church, with most of our best-known, best loved, most respected Christian leaders promoting this Satanic strategy birthed in the pit of hell.

Whether these leaders are well intentioned but deceived, or whether they seek to deceive, I do not know…either way, you and I must guard our salvation fiercely.

The Holy Spirit, through the late Gwen Shaw, said, “There is no way, when it has become so corrupt, to convert or change her (the church). The only thing left is to come out of her, separate yourself from her. A split is better than the defilement of the lot, the cutting off of a right arm is better than the poisoning of high blood stream.”

And now we are at a crossroads.

You are at a crossroads.

Because stuff just got serious. Deadly serious. And you’re going to have to pick a side in the sifting.

The Christians – the real Christians; the remnant – are at war.

Satan’s sinister, smart strategy

Satan had a plan, and it was smart.

His plan was to create a counterfeit Christianity that would be so close to the real thing, that it would fool billions into believing they were saved, when they were actually bound for hell.

It started all the way back when Jesus walked the earth. Jesus Himself said in Luke 6:46: “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?”

The Bible warns us over and over again about false doctrines. Matthew 24:4-5 says, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name…and will deceive many.”

It was only amplified on a mass scale with the Toronto Blessing, and other so called, “revivals” that took place around the same time. The Toronto Blessing was actually not a blessing at all, but rather a curse, imparted on a large scale.

Now of course, just as in the early Biblical days, the occult has always tried to slip into the church, but not on a massive, softly subtle manner as this strategy, which has since spread like wildfire and become out of control, pushing a large amount of true Christians out of the church so that they don’t themselves become contaminated by evil doctrine.

Satan’s mastermind plan was to get future Christian leaders to the Toronto Blessing, and impart to them the Kundalini spirit, which is a demonic force that manifests as the Holy Spirit.

In turn, these leaders – whether knowingly or unknowingly, only God can say – would spread this false gospel throughout the world, in order to corrupt and defile the house of God.

It worked. The church has become corrupt.

But for those who don’t know, let’s take a quick pause, and explain what the Toronto Blessing is, but first, it’s important to understand what real revival looks like:

What is real revival?

The word “revival” is thrown around a lot. But what is it really?

We can base real revival on Jonah 3, when God sent Jonah to Nineveh:

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”

Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:

“By the decree of the king and his nobles:

Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence. Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish.”

When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.”

That is what real revival looks like! Let’s take a closer look:

  • Real revival starts with the awareness of God’s almighty sovereignty.
  • People are deeply convicted of sin and repent with tangible actions.

Now that we know the Biblical way of revival, let’s check out what many modern so-called “apostles” and “prophets” are calling for: “revival” as took place at the Toronto Blessing…

What is the Toronto Blessing?

Wikipedia explains the Toronto Blessing as “The Christian revival and associated phenomena that began in January 1994 at the Toronto Airport Vineyard church (TAV)”.

The Toronto Blessing is known as one of the greatest revivals in the church, where miracles, healings and signs and wonders took place. Christians were excited and joyful about it. Many still refer to it as a wonder work of God.

At the “revival”, people were laughing, shaking, “drunk”, shouting, and seeing visions.

Now, before we proceed, you must understand that because God looks at the intentions of our hearts, He meets us individually anywhere we are, and perhaps including some who were at the Toronto Blessing. I cannot say that none of it was from God, but I can say that the symptoms show that the majority of the works performed were from Satan.

My word of caution to you is to avoid being quick to think that ALL manifestations at Christian events are false, because we also cannot limit God, and He will do what He wants to do, where He wants to do it.

He uses the saved and the unsaved. He uses the bad and the good. He is God. And He does what He wants.

It’s the same in the Catholic system for instance. Roman Catholicism as a system is not of God, but when there is a person in the Catholic system, who yearns for the Lord, He will meet them in that false system, personally, if not collectively. Their eyes may not open to the truth of the system, but that does not mean they are not saved.

Deceived for sure. Saved? Only God can say.

Now I’ve covered that, let’s continue.

Here’s a video so you can see for yourself what happened smack bang in the midst of the Toronto Blessing; you may want to skip to around the 23:00 mark to see a drunken John Scotland preaching, jerking and bringing attention to himself (clearly not the work of the Holy Spirit, Who always points to Jesus Christ and holiness, because God says, “be holy for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:44-45).

And 1 Corinthians 14:40 says, “But all things should be done decently and in order.

There is nothing decent, in order or holy about Kilpatrick’s behaviour in this clip:

What happened, is that people were breaking out into laughter, drunkenness, jerking, shouting, making animal noises, so that even Randy Clark, staunch Toronto Revival supporter, said, “it was chaos”.

Fruit of the Toronto Revival

But sceptics called it a work of the devil.

At the time though, leaders said, “let’s see if it bears fruit”. Well, CBN says, “And much fruit did come, as many of those experiencing the signs, wonders, and miracles of the Toronto Blessing found those same signs, wonders and miracles followed them home and burst out when they returned back to their own congregations. That led to millions around the world having their faith built up or restored and a contagious love growing in their heart for God.”

Hm. “Those same signs, wonders and miracles followed them home and burst out when they returned back to their own congregations.” Indeed it did. That was all part of the grand master plan by Satan, and led to the pollution of those many congregations.

But did the so-called Toronto revival bear fruit?

Well, let’s put it this way: did more people start living a more consecrated life? Do we see more holiness today than ever before? Did lives transform to reveal righteousness?

What about our top evangelical leaders, the likes of Todd Bentley, Rick Warren and Benny Hinn, all of who endorsed the Toronto revival? What do their lives look like? Are they holy and righteous? No. Todd Bentley has just been exposed as a sex predator, Rick Warren promotes the Pope who is working towards bringing the one world order together, and Benny Hinn preaches for profit.

So did the Toronto revival bear fruit? No. If the so-called “revival” and other “revivals” that took place around the same time, were truly a work of the Holy Spirit, the world would not be in the mess it is currently in.

Instead, Andrew Strom brings up an interesting point, “Why does this movement seem literally identical to many counterfeit movements which have destroyed genuine Revivals down through church history? And why are the manifestations seemingly identical to the Chinese occultic ‘Qigong’ movement, as well as Franz Mesmer’s occultic healing practice and the manifestations found throughout the “Kundalini” cults of Rajneesh, Ramakrishna, etc? Why are such manifestations found throughout the New Age movement worldwide, and yet nowhere in the Bible?”

To boot, Acts 3:19 says, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;”, so the Bible tells us that revival only comes from repentance, and there was none of that at the Toronto “Blessing”…

Instead what we find at the Toronto Blessing, and many other places where revival supposedly breaks out, is:

  • Hissing
  • Barking
  • Shouting
  • Incoherent babbling
  • Jerking
  • Drunkenness
  • Rolling around
  • Laughter

Does any of that bring glory to a holy, sovereign God? Can these behaviours really be a work of the Holy Spirit? And if so, why?

The Toronto transference

Before the Toronto Blessing, this kind of “revival” was unheard of, and churches back then – less than 26 years ago – would immediately have recognised the behaviour exhibited by these people – to be demonic. They would not have hesitated to cast out demons from the people.

Unfortunately, these false revivals, and the impartation of a false Holy Spirit, has now taken root and become the norm, with top Christian leaders and prophets calling out for a revival the likes of which happened in Toronto 25 years ago.

The false revival leaders

It was Rodney Howard Browne, hailing from Word of Faith Church in Port Elizabeth South Africa, who was the facilitator of the Toronto Blessing.

Now, there were many (of today’s) hot shot Christian leaders who attended the Toronto Blessing – Bill Johnson of Bethel Church was one of them. We’ll get back to him and Bethel in a moment…

All the big boys in the charismatic space have endorsed this false Holy Spirit movement – Rick Joyner, Peter Wagner, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, all of them. In the research I did, it was said that if a leader voiced their concerns at that time, they were put under enormous pressure to conform, which is why not many people came forward in those days. Until about 10 years ago.

So, this new type of “revival” was birthed into Christianity in the United States; a master plan of the devil to infiltrate and wreck God’s church through occultic practices. Sly. And very, very smart.

Satan is welcomed into the church

It makes sense that Satan would not come blazing and roaring to fight the church of God, because we would never have let him in. Instead, he slithered in as part of the church, to attack the bride of Jesus Christ. To destroy her.

It was the Toronto Blessing that set off a mass occult invasion into the church.

I’m not the only one to share this opinion. The writer of Agape, says, “Now if you look carefully at the figure below, you will notice that this “laughter anointing” passed down from Rodney Howard-Browne to Randy Clark (who apparently came close to a nervous breakdown in 1993) and from Randy Clark the “anointing” passed downwards again to John Arnott, the present pastor of the Toronto Airport Vineyard Church. John’s church was apparently in a “hospital mode”, (presumably spiritually sick), before the outpouring of the Laughter anointing. Later, John himself described this anointing as `highly contagious and transferable.” The services in this church are reputed to have gone on for six nights a week since January 1994. From Toronto, this Laughter Movement has spread to many parts of the world. The ultimate source of the Laughter Movement therefore is still Rodney Howard-Browne.”

My understanding is that someone – be it Rodney Howard-Browne or whoever, imparted a demonic force into many of those who attended the Toronto Blessing, and they in turn kept imparting to others, until it became a rather common phenomenon to happen at so-called “revivals”, so much so that most are taken in by it and think it’s the work of the Holy Spirit when it is not.

How the Kundalini impartation spread throughout the world; starting at the Toronto Blessing, those who received the impartation passed it on to others who have passed it on to others and so it goes, on and on, all around the world, deceiving people on a mass scale.

Discerning The World provides a comparison chart that shows the Biblical difference between the Holy Spirit and the Kundalini spirit: the false Holy Spirit.

I’m not saying there were no genuine healings that took place. But at whose power? Because Satan comes as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), and he is well able to perform miracles. But…it is always with the intention to deceive.

There are indeed many people who have been healed from miladies at these “revivals”, and because of that, they are staunch about it being from the Holy Spirit…which is exactly Satan’s motivation…heal them, and they will be forever loyal, no questions asked…

All our top charismatic leaders endorse these false revivals, and because they have so much influence with so many people, the impact they have on the world is huge. Can you see yet how smart the plan was?

The deception just kept spreading and keeps spreading, like a mass virus, it’s tentacles reaching far and wide amongst God’s children, to corrupt and make filthy that which belonged to the King.

To move the church into accepting the One World Religion…

What these revivals actually are though, is an awakening of the Kundalini spirit.

How do people get this unholy spirit?

People who run after the works of the Holy Spirit, but do not seek Jesus Christ, are open to deception, which may be in the form of an evil spirit masquerading as the Holy Spirit, or they can become deluded to their own subjective consciousness and feelings which they mistake as the work of the Holy Spirit. It is easy to seek miracles and healings which have nothing to do with Jesus Christ or repentance.

People receive the unholy spirit from another person whose Kundalini is awakened; it is called a shaktipat. The awakening temporarily raises the Kundalini but the demonic transference has taken place.

Impartations through others who already have the spirit

Common ways in which the spirit is imparted are through leaders:

  • Calling down “fire”. They often shout, “fire, fire fire”, as if they are calling out to God to send His fire, or they chant, “more, more, more Lord!”
  • Blowing on people
  • Laying on of hands
  • Holding hands over the person
  • Chanting over the congregation, repeating the same words

When the Kundalini spirit is imparted to those Christians who run after signs and wonders, they may become prophetic, and can experience visions, dreams, and feelings of peace. These people can even look like they are doing the works of the Holy Spirit, and only the most discerning can see it.

This is key to understand, because it gives the answer as to why the prophetic has become so contaminated by evil and is for the most part, untrustworthy.

Testimonies of people who were deceived

Thank you to Truth In Reality who provided these testimonies of people who took part in false revivals where the Kundalini spirit was imparted to them. Later on, the Lord opened their eyes and they realised they had been deceived. Here are their stories:

“I went to Lakeland three times. I was so drawn to go there. I really thought it was of God… I had so many supernatural experiences – to seeing a mystical Jesus with a third eye, angels talking to me, visions, being transported. I had one experience with my daughter being in the room and her experiencing it too. I was roaring like a lion, had gold dust and many other experiences. The worst thing that happened to me is that it got sexual.

This false Jesus was approaching me sexually and I fell into it. I still to this day do not understand how I could have been so deceived. I have been a Christian since the age of 16. I am 49 now… I fell right in… hook, line and sinker. When I came home that last visit I became aware it was demonic, and I was surrounded and covered with demons literally, it was so horrible, all that I went through, you cannot imagine… I was seeing demons and being touched sexually and tormentingly constantly.. It has been 18 months and I am still battling these demonic spirits. I cry out to the Lord everyday for total deliverance. It has been horrible. I have renounced and repented, but still fighting. How do we get free of this?” [Anonymous]

“I can testify that I was infested with this foul Eastern spirit, the kundalini. I was in a movement from 1992 – 2000 which had close links with the Toronto movement. From 2000 – 2006 I joined a church with links to Bill Johnson.

I was desperate for God to move in my life and change situations and heal hurts and was very open to ministry – I had many in this movement touch my forehead and experienced the manifestations you describe – drunkenness, laughing and crying, shaking. I got dreams and visions and just before I left the structure (church) I had a vivid dream of a huge python that came through the back door and attached itself to my car, and also to rooms in my home. I was very disturbed and sought the Lord for an answer.

It took about 6 months before I was delivered, but God brought a couple over my path who God had trained and had victory over spiritual entities. Every time I was in their presence, I would get very anxious, and they would calmly pray for me and I could feel darkness leaving and my sanity restored. It was only after 6 months of these episodes, I was again in their presence and sensed a fight ensue in the Spirit.

I was very anxious and fearful and could feel a huge snake in my spine – I was rigid and very uncomfortable – It felt as if this thing wanted to throttle me and rob me of my life. I called out to God and they quietly prayed – then I asked the lady to pull this serpent out of my head – it felt as if it could exit near the top of my crown. She continued to pray and I got the word “kundalini ” in my spirit and just commanded this thing by its name to go in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I pled the blood as it was very frightening, and it left. I felt like a washed out rag, but I was free!

That was the last time I had deliverance and my spiritual eyes have since opened and God has done a mighty work in me outside of the structure… Afterwards they were amazed and asked me what strange term I had used and where it came from – I had no idea except that it was God who gave me knowledge in that situation.”

The effect of the Kundalini spirit

So many Christians have received the Kundalini spirit by way of impartation, and as such, receive the gift of prophecy, but the gift is not from the Lord’s hand, but by Satan’s. Just as the fortune teller can foretell and speak “truths” about people’s lives, by way of the demonic, so can those Christians who have experienced the Kundalini awakening (when they have not repented of it).

It is all about deception.

And the ultimate purpose of this spirit is to gain control of people’s minds.

If Satan can control the Christian’s mind, he gets the person.

This is why it is so difficult to minister into these people’s lives.

Don’t be fooled – there are negative and positive effects of the Kundalini spirit, but it’s primary purpose is to get control of the person’s mind to deceive and lead to hell.

Signs of the Kundalini awakening

I’m not going to list all the symptoms of the awakening of this spirit, but it is important to share with you some of the most common “symptoms” so that you can identify them in leaders who are using the occult to perform signs and wonders. The person doing the transference will awaken the following signs in the person to whom the impartation is occurring:

  • Tingling, even without touching
  • Jerking, tremors, shaking, convulsing, crawling sensation, electric feeling
  • Moderate to intense heat, or intense cold
  • Animal sounds
  • Uncontrollable laughter or crying
  • Intoxication
  • Slurred speech

Thanks to DiscerningTheWorld for this chart.

Identifying Christian leaders who are imparting the false spirit

To protect yourself from contamination, it’s important to know what to look out for in Christian leaders who are imparting this spirit to the unsuspecting believer:

  • Praying for people to receive “more” or calling out, “Fire”, “new wine”, “drink” or “fresh revelation”, and placing their hand on the person’s forehead until the false manifestation occurs.
  • Moving their hands around in a strange fashion.
  • They “throw” or make the action of throwing to people who then fall down and roll about as though drunk. (But the Bible repeatedly tells us to stay sober and vigilant).
  • Shouting at God or commanding God’s glory to fall, as if He takes instruction from mere man.
  • Those who encourage “soaking”.
  • Strange behaviour in leaders, like drunkenness, animal noises, shaking heads, and so on (take a look at drunken “Prophet” Heidi Baker in this video):

How to recognise the spirit of the occult in the church

The Kundalini spirit, the spirit that manifests as the Holy Spirit in these “Christian revivals” is nothing other than a deceiving demonic force.

Wikipedia explains the Kundalini spirit well: “The Sanskrit term “Kundali Shakti” translates as “Serpent Power”. Kundalini is thought to be an energy released within an individual using specific meditation techniques. It is represented symbolically as a serpent coiled at the base of the spine.”

The Kundalini spirit is awakened in yoga (which is why a Christian should never participate in yoga), and in “puja”, the Hindu worship service.

Hinduism Today explains a typical puja like this: “All puja follows one basic pattern. First, the pujari purifies himself, the sacred implements and the place of worship. He chants in Sanskrit the time, place and nature of this particular puja. Through hand gestures (mudras) and mantras, he beseeches the Deity to come and dwell in the image.”

Take a look at a typical puja. Pay attention to how the Kundalini manifests later on in the video, through:

  • Snakey slinking
  • Rolling around
  • Jerking

Now look at what’s happening in churches and compare it to what happens at Hindu pujas:

How to identify this false spirit:

“Whenever it seizes him, it dashes him down; and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid; and I asked your disciples to cast it out, but they could not do so.”

Mk 9:18

  • Seizing
  • Falling down
  • Rigidity
  • Drunkenness
  • Jerking
  • Slithering
  • Rolling
  • Uncontrollable, raucous laughter

Watch for these catch phrases often used to promote Christian events/churches:

  • Revival
  • Prophetic (unfortunately, the prophetic has been the most corrupted so you have to be careful who you listen to)
  • Fire
  • Encounter
  • Apostles
  • Glory
  • Unity
  • Kingdom
  • Soaking
  • Glory

Terms used to describe leaders linked to false revivals:

  • Revolutionary
  • Revivalist
  • Firestarter
  • Apostle
  • Prophet

Watch out specifically (but not limited to) these leaders:

Avoid any events or material of the following people specifically (and those who associate and promote them):

  • Bethel Church (any of their leaders or associates)
  • Bill Johnson of course
  • John Kilpatrick
  • Mike Bickle (founder of the Alpha course)
  • Todd Bently
  • Bill Hamon
  • Randy Clark
  • Peter Wagner
  • Rodney Howard Brown
  • Kenneth Copeland
  • Rick Joyner
  • Heidi Baker
  • John Arnott
  • Carol Arnott
  • Benny Hinn
  • Todd White
  • Kris Valloton

Avoid leaders of and leaders who are associated with:

  • IHOP
  • Bethel Church
  • Trinity Broadcasting Network
  • Daystar Television
  • God TV
  • Charisma magazine
  • YWAM

Dan Price says:

“There is a holy fire and there is a strange fire. God’s holy fire produces holy fruit and manifests righteousness, the devil’s strange fire produces strange fruit and manifests unrighteousness. Lord Jesus Christ never barked like a dog, growled like a wolf, or squealed like a pig. He didn’t convulse in seizures or roll on the floor. He didn’t beg for money, nor did He promise or promote worldly riches. As a matter of fact, He cast the demons out of those who did these things! Lord, purge, purify and sanctify us by Your refining fire so that we can be the manifest Sons and Daughters of God we are truly called to be.” [Source]

How Bethel Church has driven a mass occult infiltration

Bethel Church, who hosts on average, 10 000 people a week, led by Bill Johnson and situated in Redding, California, has single handedly made the biggest impact on the Christian church in all of history.

They are known mostly for producing emotionally-inspired Christian music that is sold globally and beloved by Christians all over the world, and their music is embraced worldwide in churches during worship. Bethel boasts many ministries, and sends out speakers to churches and conferences. In addition, they have Bethel TV for those situated in every sphere, and share their views via books and in church material.

All this would be so good if it were fighting FOR the faith, instead of AGAINST it.

Instead, Bethel Church makes the New Age and the occult appear Christian because it’s called “Christian” and acts Christian on the top level, covering the wicked it spreads so effectively, and deceiving millions of…Christians.

Bethel Church also churns out false prophets like a factory, pushing the false spirit into churches far and wide, so that the majority of churches all over the world have been infiltrated with the occult.

Their prophetic training is full of the occult, with a graduation ceremony resembling the Freemason’s Knights of Malta initiation

Side note: Rick Joyner, also part of the New Apostolic Reformation (as is Bethel), is one of the top Christian leaders, and is in the Knights of Malta.

The history of Bethel Church

Well, once upon a time, Bethel Church was an affiliate of the Assemblies of God; a good old fashioned church. But Bill Johnson was asked to take over the leadership in 1996, and that’s when things went south fast, a mass of members departing the church, and in 2005, Bethel withdrew its affiliation.

Now, Bill Johnson, leader of Bethel Church, also attended the “Toronto Blessing”, where the same spirit was “imparted” to him, giving him a fervour for so-called “revival”.

From a Biblical perspective, there are many things wrong with Bethel Church and their beliefs. Primarily, they ignore much of the Bible and chase after signs and wonders.

Jesus says in Matthew 12:39: “A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign!”

Rick Becker says, “When it comes to evangelism, Bethel promotes signs and wonders, or “encounters with God” as a means to save the lost.  The preaching of the true gospel is by and large foreign to Bethel. It has been replaced with an ear tickling message that elevates self and has replaced the cross with a throne.  Bethel’s “gospel” consists of a smorgasbord of errors – word of faith heresy, the prosperity gospel, dominion theology, false signs and wonders, and mysticism to name a few.”

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 says, “The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.  Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

Bethel Church is all about “encounters”, which is all good and well, but not when the Bible is largely ignored to do so. True revival does not come from signs and wonders, but from heartfelt repentance, and being a seeker sensitive church, Bethel is not known for repentance kind of preaching.

I won’t get into everything that’s wrong with Bethel as a whole (there’s a lot more), but I do want to show you the one area that is problematic, and how that one area has contributed to pushing the occult into churches on a mass scale.

This video by Andrew Strom explains the occultic issues with Bethel and Bill Johnson:

In short, Bethel uses deliberate techniques to impart a false Holy Spirit via fire tunnels, and encourages grave soaking. They endorse false prophets and teachers who also impart the Kundalini spirit.

Beni Johnson, Bill’s wife, “grave soaking” off the grave of CS Lewis.

Here’s a clip showing Bethel Church and their fire tunnel of impartation; you can clearly see the Kundalini spirit in action:

Do you see all those hands laying hands on everyone? Well, 1 Timothy 5:22 warns against this: “Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others; keep yourself free from sin.”

And yet, Bethel encourages it – as congregation members walk through the fire tunnel, how many hands are being laid on them by all and sundry? This is dangerous stuff; how much spiritual filth is being imparted to each person?

In this next video, Renee Roland, ex-occultist, explains the demonic manifestations at Bethel:

To boot, Beni Johnson, Bill’s wife, is into a lot of mystical practices.

Bill Johnson is the author of a New Age book, called, “The Physics of Heaven”. In it, he says (about grave soaking; the practice of lying on graves soaking in the “anointing” of dead people who had strong relationships with God), “There are anointings, mantles, revelations and mysteries that have lain unclaimed, literally where they were left, because the generation that walked in them never passed them on. I believe it’s possible for us to recover realms of anointing, realms of insight, realms of God that have been untended for decades simply by choosing to reclaim them and perpetuate them for future generations.”

Bethel Church in Redding, California, has impacted Christianity around the world. And not in a good way. The church uses it’s popular music and School of Supernatural Ministry, to name just a few avenues, to infiltrate churches on a global scale, imparting the spirit of the occult.

The impact of Bethel Church

At the time of my research, Bethel Church boasted these impressive numbers, and for the purpose of this article, we can see how influential Bethel is with their methods of impartation of the spirit of the occult:

ChurchAbout 9000 or more attendees a week
Amount of missionaries61
Amount of Bethel events planned for a period of 6 months (this number is conservative, as Bethel works with a huge amount of churches worldwide and this number does not include those events)15
Bethel has a music worship school, primary and high school, arts school, and technology schoolUnknown
School of Supernatural Ministry
About 2000 annually
Leadership development programsUnknown
Bethel TVUnknown
Online eventsUnknown
Bethel storeUnknown

In addition, churches all over the world use their training materials, and to give you a number, in Johannesburg South Africa alone, the amount of churches listed on the Bethel Network amounted to 48. That will be a low figure, because South Africa is still fairly conservative, although the New Apostolic Reformation is rampant.

Countries closer to where Bethel Church in Redding California is situated, are likely to have far more churches listed on the Bethel Network.

The popular Burn 24 events (worship at a particular church for 24 hours at a time) was founded by Sean Feucht, a member of…you guessed it…Bethel Church, and those events occur at more than 300 locations, where the bands that play also use Bethel music for worship.

Now, Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry students (many if not all, of whom also have the Kundalini spirit imparted to them) are commissioned to go out to the world and “bring heaven to earth wherever you go”. As a result of this commission, many of their alumni approach new or small churches and offer to do some kind of preaching/impartation, where the occult is unknowingly, brought in. The result is yet another church that is now corrupted because it has accepted witchcraft.

Please don’t think that the students themselves are aware of what they are being taught; they are being deceived too, all with the purpose of spreading the contamination. Ask Lindsay Davis, who was expelled from Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry after watching American Gospel, prompting her to ask questions about some of the practices of the school.

An ex-Satanist watched the following video of Heidi Baker preaching at Bethel Church, and said, “that woman is casting spells over those people”. Take a look:

Note how Heidi repeats words – that’s chanting and cast spelling. Impartations come through blowing, waving, touching, laying on of hands, and so on.

Then of course, there’s the biggie: Bethel music, which is used in worship at churches around the world, imparting the same occultic spirit of deception on a mass scale, reaching millions of people every Sunday.

Bethel Church reaches vast amounts of people on a daily basis, and as a result, the occult is rampant in the overall church, on a worldwide scale.

Can you see how smart Satan’s plan was? It certainly worked, as most people believe these false manifestations are the work of God.

What now?

Now you know all of this, what now?

If you’re a church leader

If you are serious about protecting your flock according to Biblical standards, you will need to clear out all Bethel related materials including their worship music and training material. Avoid moving over to music from Elevation or Hillsong, who are also unGodly, even if not occultic. Read more on how Satan is using music in churches, also to bring deception.

Be careful about who you allow to take your stage, because people who are trained by Bethel are commissioned to go out into the world and “spread” the message, so it is possible your church will hear from “prophets” and teachers who have studied with Bethel.

Warn your congregation about the Kundalini spirit in false revivals and teach them what true revival is, because those searching for more of God are likely to be attracted to signs and wonders. Also educate your flock on the dangers of Bethel music.

If you’ve participated

Perhaps you’ve gone to a false revival, or listened to Bethel music, or taken part in a Bethel event. Maybe many people have laid hands upon you, including worldly pastors, or maybe you follow a leader who endorses false revivals. Lastly, if you believe you may have had the Kundalini spirit imparted to you, then I would recommend going through this resource and making amends as it applies to your situation.

Final words

I don’t have anything more to say, but I do want to pray for anyone who has read this article.

Lord Jesus, thank You for leading us to truth. Thank You that all truth belongs to You and Your word. Thank You for giving us Your word as a measurement and standard. Please protect those who have read this, and open their eyes further to Your truths. We honour You and praise You. Amen.
